Gratitude and Commitment to Safety

Hello, I’m Rodney Clayton, founder of Safety Pad Solutions. I started my career as a motor trimmer, but in 1984, I joined TAA (which later became Qantas) as an engineer, working on aircraft cabin safety equipment. Over the years, I gained valuable experience in manufacturing, installation, and quality assurance, always ensuring our work met the strict standards of Qantas and CASA.

In 2014, like many of my colleagues, I faced redundancy. Around that time, I noticed the new playground equipment at my son’s school had raw metal poles and edges—just waiting to cause an injury. Drawing on my engineering background and training in safety, I designed and manufactured protective padding for the equipment. I quickly saw that other schools and sports clubs could benefit from similar solutions, and that’s how Safety Pad Solutions came to be. My goal is to provide high-quality, reliable padding to create safer environments for kids and athletes alike.
